“Every woman is more than her past; within her lies the power to rise again.” – Rev. John Gathanga

Across Africa, thousands of women and girls are trapped in survival sex work, not by choice but by poverty, displacement, abuse, and broken family structures. These women—often stigmatized—are mothers, daughters, and sisters who carry untold stories of resilience. They face exploitation, gender-based violence, HIV and other health risks, mental trauma, and rejection.

At Amariah EcoShield Africa, we believe prostitution does not define a woman’s destiny. Through the Daughters of Hope Initiative, we provide a pathway from exploitation to dignity, and from survival to empowerment.

Our Approach

We use a holistic, community-centered, and faith-inspired model built on four pillars:

Rescue & Safe Spaces

Safe houses, drop-in centers, legal aid, and crisis response for women escaping exploitation and trafficking.

Health & Psychosocial Support

Access to reproductive healthcare, HIV testing, trauma counseling, and peer support groups.

Skills Development & Economic Empowerment

Vocational training, microfinance, job placements, and social enterprises that create dignified livelihoods.

Education & Family Reintegration

Adult literacy, scholarships for children, parenting support, and family reunification where safe.

Capacity building

training teachers, caregivers, and community leaders.
