From Survivor to Thriving Leader

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is a silent epidemic in Kenya. From domestic abuse to harmful cultural practices like early marriage and FGM, women and girls are too often stripped of their rights and dignity.

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) are among the most pervasive human rights violations in Africa and globally. The United Nations estimates that 1 in 3 women worldwide experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, with Africa carrying a disproportionately high burden.

Our program confronts it at every level, offering immediate safety and long-term empowerment to create a future free from fear.

GBV and SGBV forms

The effects are devastating: survivors face long-term trauma, stigmatization, economic disempowerment, health complications, disrupted education, and in many cases, multi-generational cycles of violence.

In African societies, silence around GBV persists due to cultural taboos, fear of retaliation, lack of trust in justice systems, and limited safe reporting mechanisms.

As a result, countless cases remain hidden, and perpetrators often go unpunished.

Amariah Ecoshield Africa was founded on the conviction that every soul matters. We cannot be silent when lives are being shattered. Our mission is to restore dignity, protect rights, empower survivors, and dismantle the structures that sustain GBV/SGBV.
