(Beyond Limits Initiative – Amariah EcoShield Africa, AMECAF)

“Disability is not inability—it is diversity.”

Why This Program Matters

Across Kenya and Africa, persons with disabilities (PWDs) face exclusion, stigma, and limited access to education, jobs, healthcare, and community life. Although policies exist, implementation is slow, leaving millions marginalized. Yet, PWDs bring creativity, resilience, and talent that can transform families and societies when given equal opportunities.

Globally, 1 in 7 people live with disabilities, and in Kenya alone, up to 7.5 million people experience functional difficulties. Poverty among PWDs stands at 38%, and only 1.32% of the workforce includes PWDs despite the legal 5% employment quota. At AMECAF, we believe this gap must be closed.
