Our Founder

Rev. John Gathanga is a passionate minister, visionary leader, counselor, author, and philanthropist dedicated to restoring dignity, empowering vulnerable communities, and championing justice across Africa. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Amariah Ecoshield Africa (AMECAF), a faith-driven humanitarian and development organization committed to healing, protection, and transformation.

With a unique blend of biblical truth, scientific insight, and practical wisdom, Rev. Gathanga has become a respected voice in matters of healing, restoration, purpose, and leadership. His life mission is anchored in the belief that:

Professional Background & Achievements

  • Certified SGBV Trainer – Accredited by the Regional Training Facility on Prevention and Suppression of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (ICGLR-RTF) in the Great Lakes Region, he has spearheaded initiatives to combat SGBV, FGM, human trafficking, and other injustices affecting women, children, and vulnerable communities.
  • Continental Treasurer – Served as the Continental Treasurer of the Universal Peace Federation (Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace) at the Africa Headquarters in Nairobi (2010–2014), strengthening interreligious cooperation and peace-building efforts.
  • Corporate Leadership – Senior Supervisor at Kinde Engineering Works, where he successfully led teams of up to 200 people, gaining practical experience in leadership, HR management, and organizational empowerment.
  • Author & Motivational Speaker – Author of Think, Believe, Act, Become: A Journey from Thought to Transformation and five other inspirational books on faith, leadership, and emotional healing. Through his writings and conferences, he inspires thousands to unlock their destinies.
  • Counselor & Mentor – With years of pastoral and counseling experience, he has guided single mothers, divorced women, youth, and families through seasons of pain, healing, and restoration.

Academic Background

  • Holds a Degree in Leadership and Administration from DaySpring Theological University (USA).
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Triumphant University (USA), focusing on the intersection of theology, leadership, and social transformation.

Personal Life

  • Rev. Gathanga is a devoted husband to Teresiah Wangui and a loving father of two children. Beyond ministry and leadership, he is known for his humility, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the truth of God’s Word.
